At Biltmore Dental Assisting Academy, we aim to inspire and prepare future dental assistants to become caring healthcare professionals with the desire to serve the patients with patience and compassion.

Biltmore Dental Assisting Academy offers instruction in all requirements for a basic understanding of dentistry and proficiency of tasks delegated to the dental assistant by a licensed dentist in the state of Arizona.

Who Can Participate?

We’re looking for students who enjoy working with people, are detail oriented, and are ready to start a new career in healthcare. To be eligible to attend, you must also meet the following admission requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.

  • Have a government issued ID.

  • Have a high school or equivalency diploma (GED).

Comprehensive Course Outline

The program consists of 8 class hours per week for 10 weeks. Classes are held on weekends and consist of presentations and hands-on activities in the clinic. You will learn:

  • A vocabulary of dental terms and definitions

  • Four-handed dentistry, anesthetics, dental instrument sterilization and care, and setting up treatment rooms

  • Dental radiology theory and practice

  • Restorative dentistry: fillings, crowns and bridges, dentures and implants

  • Oral surgery, periodontics, orthodontics, and pediatric dentisty

  • Dental appliances and teeth whitening, dental materials, and how to take great dental impressions

  • Dental codes and preparing clinical documentation

  • Basic office management, phone skills, and setting appointments

  • Resume writing and interviewing skills
