I grew up in a small town in southern Alberta, Canada, and ended up in Arizona by way of Utah. I love the Arizona heat and the outdoor activities it provides, especially the hiking. I have two great kids and the cutest grandson, whom I love spending time with. His little smiles and hugs always make me smile. I attended the American Institute of Medical-Dental Assisting in 1988 and began working as a dental assistant for almost 10 years before moving into the front office to assist there. I didn’t expect the dental field to be my life-long career. I initially earned my DA certificate thinking it would be a good job as I worked through college, but then realized that I really loved it. I am very grateful to work with, and for, such good people. Most of all, I am grateful to be a part of that moment when a patient really smiles because they no longer feel the need to hide their teeth behind tightly closed lips or hold a hand to cover their mouth while they speak. Creating smiles is what we are all about and that is where I find joy in the work we do!
